Rationale

Fairly frequently I send out e-mail responses to questions on various FreeBSD mailing lists, particularly freebsd-questions@freebsd.org. Some people even seem to find some of the mailing list traffic useful. After a while however, many of the same questions come up all over again.

"I know" I thought, sometime in the Summer of 2003, "When I have a few minutes, I'll tidy some of the articles up, annotate them properly and post them here." Well, now it's 2008 and I haven't yet had those few minutes in all the interveining five years.

Shocking.

I never could keep up a personal diary beyond the end of January either.

All I can promise is that updates will be irregularly scheduled, infrequent and probably a lot less interesting than you might think. With any luck I'll have as much success at keeping that promise as I did at keeping to my original intention.

Any suggestions, comments and corrections will be gratefully received.
